Text messages
SMS Terms
Effective 2026-09-11. These terms are in effect for text messages from Gether.
These terms cover text messages sent by Gether under the program named "Gether account messages". They apply when you give Gether a mobile number and agree to receive text messages, whether on this website or in the Gether app.
1. What the program sends
Gether sends verification codes, sign-in and security alerts, card and transaction notifications, account updates and support replies. Messages are about your own Gether account and nothing else. Gether does not send marketing or promotional text messages under this program.
Message frequency varies. The number of messages you receive depends on how you use your account: a verification code when you sign in, an alert when a card is used, an update when something about your account changes.
2. Cost
Message and data rates may apply. Gether does not charge for text messages. Your mobile carrier may charge you for each message sent or received under your plan. Contact your carrier for details.
3. How you agree
You agree to receive text messages by entering a mobile number and ticking the consent box on the Gether website or in the Gether app. The box is not ticked for you. Consent is not a condition of purchase.
You must be the subscriber or the customary user of the number you enter, and you must be at least eighteen years old. If your number changes, tell us or sign up again with the new number; messages sent to a number you no longer hold are not our responsibility once you have been told how to update it.
When you agree, Gether sends one confirmation message to the number. If Gether messaging is not yet open when you sign up, that confirmation is sent when it opens.
4. How to stop
- Reply STOP to any message from Gether to cancel all text messages under this program. Gether sends one final message confirming the cancellation and nothing after it.
- The words CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, STOPALL, OPTOUT and REVOKE also cancel.
- You can also turn text messages off in the Gether app under notification settings, or email support@trygether.com.
- Cancelling text messages does not close your account.
5. How to get help
- Reply HELP to any message from Gether for the program name, how to stop, and how to reach support.
- The word INFO does the same.
- Email support@trygether.com, or visit gethr.link/support.
6. Carriers and delivery
The program is available on major US carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier, your device and your coverage, and Gether cannot promise that a message arrives or arrives at a particular time. Do not rely on a text message as your only record of anything about your account; the Gether app and your statements are the record.
US mobile numbers only. Numbers outside the United States are not accepted by this program.
7. Your number and your information
How Gether collects, uses, keeps and shares your mobile number and your consent is described in the SMS Privacy Notice at gethr.link/sms/privacy. In short: your number is used to send the messages described here, your consent record is kept to prove that you agreed, and neither is sold or shared with anyone for marketing.
8. Changes
Gether may change these terms. The date at the top is the date the current version took effect. A change that adds a new category of message, or that changes how you stop, is told to you by text message before it applies, and you can reply STOP at any time.
